Gerry Lemay

Theater Acoustics Specialist

Gerry Lemay is the Director of the Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA) – the industry’s leading training and certification organization specializing in residential acoustics and home theater audio calibration practices and is President of Quest Acoustical Interiors – a leading acoustical product solutions manufacturer.

His experience in the home audio industry began in mid 1970’s as a young enthusiast, building speakers and electronic components.  While studying as a physics student he worked in small recording studios and audio retailers experimenting with the art of both producing and reproducing sound.  Upon graduation, his professional training took him into the world of ocean acoustics as a Naval Officer studying the prediction of sound propagation in the sea.

Upon leaving the Navy, his greatest challenge became the founding and running of a small retail audio shop in St. Louis where he began in earnest perfecting the art of home listening room design.  Since then Gerry has worked as an executive and technical advisor in the consumer electronics industry for several firms and most recently founded the Home Acoustics Alliance.

The HAA has proven to be his best fit yet, as his relentless pursuit of excellence in the art and science of audio reproduction was combined with his passion for teaching.  He has developed numerous products for the consumer acoustics market and is a recognized industry expert in audio system calibration, specializing in residential-size rooms.  He brings a deep technical background in acoustics tempered by his real world experience in consumer living spaces and the design challenges that custom AV system installation dealers must face.
